Will OnFlight work on every flight?
No guarantee. Nearby connection availability can vary by device, operating system, proximity, permissions, radio settings and cabin conditions.
Does it bypass flight mode?
No. Keep Airplane Mode on. OnFlight may need Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi enabled within Airplane Mode, only where your airline permits. Always follow crew instructions.
Can strangers message me?
OnFlight is being designed around invite-only rooms, not a public cabin chat. People join through the group invite you share.
Does it show live empty seats?
No. Seat observations come from your group, not airline availability data. Never move seats unless the crew gives permission.
Does it order food or track the aircraft live?
No. The cabin-order tool is a shared checklist, not airline ordering or payment. Flight progress is an estimate based on timing, not live aircraft tracking.

The short version
Born three rows apart.
The idea came from being split up on a budget flight and using AirDrop just to communicate with someone sitting a few rows away. That should not be the best solution. OnFlight is being built to make split-seat trips simpler before takeoff, calmer in the air and easier to organise after landing.
